Immunizations & Wellness Care:
After completing a comprehensive physical examination, your veterinarian will evaluate your pet's age, breed and lifestyle to determine the risk of potential disease. After discussing your pet's needs, we will design a preventive health care and vaccination plan that is best for your pet.
Emergency & Critical Care:
During hospital hours, emergencies are given priority over routine procedures. For after hours emergencies, there is normally a doctor on call. Please call the hospital for instructions and phone numbers.
Internal Medicine:
We can provide most diagnostics for determining your pet's problem(s) and provide appropriate treatment.
Fully Stocked Pharmacy:
Our pharmacy is one of the most comprensive available, so when you need a medication prescribed by your veterinarian, you will go home with that medication without having to travel far and wide to acquire it and delay the treatment for your pet. In many cases, we can provide those medications at or below the internet pharmacy prices.
Pain Management:
We believe that your special friend should not endure pain inflicted by surgery, disease, or injuries. As a member of the International Veterinary Academy of Pain Management, we will work to provide appropriate medications or treatments to alleviate pain and make your pet's life more comfortable. We also offer the latest technology for pain management-Class IV Laser therapy. This is an exciting adjunt to all the other pain management medications and treatments. See Laser Therapy.
Advanced Dental Care:
The number one health problem diagnosed in 9 out of 10 cats and dogs over 4 years of age is periodontal disease. Dental disease puts tremendous demands on your pet's organs, weakening the liver, kidney and heart. We offer preventive dental care that can add years to the life of your pet.
Radiology:
Our state of the art, high frequency x-ray machine produces high quality radiographs, allowing our doctors to see fine detail and subtle changes. Our ultrasound examinations allow non-invasive imaging of the abdomen and chest. Many diseases can be accurately diagnosed with ultrasound: pancreatitis, heart disease, liver disease and kidney disease to name a few. Both x-rays and ultrasound can be forwarded to board certified specialists by telemedicine for consultations.
Surgery:
Routine & Soft Tissue: All routine and non-routine surgeries are done with anesthetics appropriate for that procedure. Most are done with the use of Isoflurane, an inhalant anesthetic which is a very safe agent. All patients are monitored by a technician as well as a monitor that measures heart rate, temperature, electrocardiogram, blood oxygen level, and respiration rate.
Routine surgeries such as spays and neuters are done on a scheduled basis. Emergency surgeries are done on a priority basis.
Routine Surgery: Spays, neuters, dewclaw removal, entropion, hernias, (too numerous to list).
Non-routine: Gastric-dilitation-torsion (bloat), thoracic surgery (some), cancer, pyometra, exploratory abdominal surgery, etc.
Stomach Foreign Bodies
Orthopedic Surgery: Many orthopedic procedures are performed, such as fracture repair with bone pins, bone plates, or external fixators. Doctor Jacques has been providing orthopedic procedures for nearly 25 years. The newer treatments such as TPLO (Tibial Plateau Leveling Osteotomy) is also being offered. (See TPLO description)
Extensive In-House Laboratory:
Our in-house laboratory gives us point-of-care diagnostic abilities when we're treating sick or injured pets, and allows us to properly evaluate every surgical case prior to anesthesia.
Hospitalization:
We know your pet will feel more at ease with you at home, but sometimes sick patients need services that can only be performed in the hospital. We strive to keep the length of hospital stays as brief as possible. While in the hospital you pet will rest comfortably on soft linens in our hospital ward. A veterinary technician is assigned to monitor the condition of each patient and to provide attentive medical treatment with tender loving care. Your pet's doctor will consult with you to inform you of your pet's progress and to discuss treatment options.
Physical Rehabilitation:
We are constantly upgrading our equipment to provide physical therapy for pets. We have recently added cold laser to our regimine to assist in pain management and rehabilitation of surgical procedures and certain physical disabilities.
Boarding:
While boarding at our facility, your pet will be kept in a clean, comfortable environment. Dogs are normally walked three times a day and are allowed to be released off leash to play in our large enclosed compound. Runs are heated in winter with radiant heat and cooled during summer. Our runs are limited and advance reservations are recommended. Boarding drop off and pick up may be done during regular business hours as well as on Saturday at 8:30 AM and 5PM, and Sunday at 8:30AM and 5PM.
